August 3rd, 2003, I stepped onto Chinese soil, filled with anticipation for a year's training in Shaolin Kung Fu. Little did I know, that this one year would extend into two decades, culminating in the creation of Rising Dragon Martial Arts School - the first residential Kung Fu school in China established by a foreigner.
Since its opening in October 2007, Rising Dragon School has become more than just a martial arts school - it's a place of personal transformation. I've seen novices morph into gold medalists. I've witnessed love stories bloom into families. I've seen health reclaimed, the weak become strong, and the timid grow confident.
Now, as I return to China on the exact day, twenty years later, I'm filled with an overwhelming sense of eagerness and nostalgia. This August, we will reopen Rising Dragon School after being closed for 3 years during the pandemic, and I can't wait to continue the journey of helping others through martial arts, fitness, and healthy living.
Looking forward, I have transformed Rising Dragon School from a profitable business into a non-profit foundation. I plan to relocate to rural Hong Kong and establish an orphanage alongside a super facility. The Rising Dragon Foundation will aim to aid orphans and underprivileged children, using the power of martial arts to positively shape lives.
So here's to the next chapter of Rising Dragon School. The future is exciting and I can't wait to share it with the world!
